British watchmaker Garrick has unveiled its latest hand-made creation, the S6. The bespoke wristwatch is an extension of the company’s entry-level offering, the S4, which was launched last year.
Founded by David Brailsford and Simon Michlmayr and operating in its own dedicated facility in Norfolk, Garrick only produces around 50 watches per year with a high degree of hand-craftsmanship.
The S6 is powered by the Calibre BF03, a heavily modified version of the Swiss ETA 6498 movement, and features an elegant 42mm English-made case crafted from 904L stainless steel. The S6’s dial is designed with a more paired-back aesthetic, devoid of numerals, and features a narrow chapter ring for hours and minutes, with a running seconds subdial at 6 o’clock.

Garrick’s craftspeople create each S6 to order, allowing clients to choose the finishes applied to their watch. The dial can be frosted, hand-hammered, laser-textured or engine-turned in a range of patterns, while the small-seconds subdial can be uniform or with a contrasting finish. The watchmaker also offers two styles of hand-made hands, anchor-shaped or understated lancine.

The Calibre BF03 movement, visible through the display case-back, boasts a swan neck regulator and skeletonised balance cock, bevelled and polished bridges, heat blued screws, and a signature engraved cover for the barrel and crown wheel. The large movement bridge can be engraved, hand-hammered, textured or frosted, with a finish in silver, rhodium, yellow gold, or pink gold.

Clients can follow the build of their S6 timepiece via a portal on the Garrick website, with pictures uploaded as the various elements are fabricated and assembled. Prices for the S6 start at £5,412 +vat, showcasing Garrick’s dedication to furthering traditional watchmaking skills at fair value.
