Crispin Jones is a British artist and designer who is best known as the founder and creative director of Mr Jones Watches, a popular brand of unique and unconventional timepieces. Jones was born in 1973 and grew up in Birmingham, England. He studied industrial design at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, where he developed his skills in product design and began to explore the concept of time and how it is represented.
After graduating in 1995, Jones worked as a freelance designer for various companies before founding his own design studio in 2002. In 2007, he launched Mr Jones Watches, which quickly gained a following for its playful and whimsical designs that challenged traditional notions of timekeeping. Jones’ watches often feature unconventional hour markers, rotating discs, and other creative elements that make them both functional and visually intriguing.
Over the years, Mr Jones Watches has gained international recognition and has been featured in numerous design publications and exhibitions. Jones himself has won multiple awards for his innovative designs, including the Design Museum’s “Designer of the Year” award in 2010.
